printer install causes 100% CPU usage

Help! When I install my Epson C82 printer (supposed to be XP compliant and
i've downloaded the newest driver from Epson website) it causes my system to
crash and when I reboot my CPU runs continually at 100%, freezes or reboots.
I've tried numerous installs and same results each time. Running XP pro on
2.3GHz 256mb system. I've tried both USB and paralell installations. Any
suggestions?

If this is XP SP2 Beta you need to contact the beta support team for the QFE

Just running XP Pro SP1 with all current updates.
Any other ideas?
