Printer Installs

If I install network printers on workstations or servers
running XP or 2K I have trouble keeping a working
connection. After the initial install everything is fine
but, if the device sits idle, for as little as a day in
some cases, the LAN stops communicating. When you attempt
to print the network doesn't see your printer and you are
forced to re-install. Does anyone know a way around
this???
