Printer prints garbage

I've been using an hp6L and Epson color 680 with Window
XP for a couple of years then suddenly it won't print on
either printers. Only bunch of garbage comes out. I've
tried changing printer cables, reinstalling the printer
port, updating drivers but none worked. I tried both
printers with my laptop and they work fine. Any other
suggestions? Should I reinstall win xp? TIA
