Printing 2.5 copies for one user only

We have an Epson FX890 connected via usb to a multi user PC. When one
specific user is logged into the network and uses this printer, it
prints 2 copies and then 2 half copies. Printing from bespoke software
using a Progress 9.1D database.

I've tried reinstalling the printer driver, I've tried deleting the
user's local profile but to no avail.

Anyone go any ideas of what else to try?
