Printing Envelopes
Posted: 09-07-2003, 02:09 AM
I am using a new Dell w/XP, Epson C60 printer, and Corel
Word Perfect Office 11. When I try to print an envelope,
the preview, and the result, is vertical printing. With
this printer, I cannot load the paper on end, and even if
I could, I still couldn't set the correct address
positions. I loaded WP10, that I had in my old computer
with W98, and get the same results. It worked great with
W98. All other printing is working fine. Dell blames
Epson, Epson blames Corel, and Corel blames Dell & XP.
Can't get any help and I've only had this computer for 3
weeks. Seems that XP just doesn't like this printer.
[Portrait/landscape setting makes no difference].
I'm not very computer literate, so if you can, please try
to explain in simple terms.
My deepest gratitude for any help.
Bruce
P.S. What is the procedure for continuing a conversation
in the same thread?

To continue a thread, select the message you wish to respond to, and choose
"Reply Group", or "Followup".

You really should consider using a newsreader other than the Microsoft Web
Interface, as it is the worst way possible to access newsgroups. You have
Outlook Express. Set it up to view newsgroups.

printing envelopes

I am using an HP5550 series printer and need to know how
to edit my envelope size to 8.5" x 5.7". I have set up
the envelope size but when I try to print the envelope,
nothing prints. If I put in a full size sheet of paper,
the address prints correctly but on the left hand side of
the paper. Where do I insert the envelope into the
printer in order to get it correctly.

Thank you for your help.

Have you checked your printer manual?

I have a HP 697c printer. It won't print envelopes although
it has a place that is marked for envelopes. What happens
is when I put the envelope in the place marked for it,the
first sheet of paper goes through with the envelope under
it. The information gets printed on the page but nothing
on the envelope. Any help on this would be appreciated.

take the paper out. then put the envelopes in. most home printers,
including the 687c, have one input location. you can have either paper
or envelopes -- but not both -- here.

I see from reading the manual that I wasn't quite correct. there is a
"single-envelope slot" on your printer. but still, taking the paper out
and putting the envelopes where the paper was should work. to use the
single envelope slot, follow the instructions in the manual about setting
the paper size. of course, it's entirely possible that the xp driver for
your old printer doesn't have thig feature.

feed to the printer.
