Printing part of a web page

I've tried to print part of a web page but cannot. I
hold the left button on the mouse and drag it over the
portion I want to print. Then from the browser menu I
click File/Print, but the selection is not lit and if I
hit print the highlighting goes away and the entire
article prints. Can someone help?
