Default private folders

My documents were saved as a "private" folder. I found it
necessary to reload my pc. When I did so, I found that I
was unable to access my folder. Is there some way that I
can still recover the files in the folder? Thank you for
any constructive advice.

Default private folders

I am running XP pro. I have a 30 gig main drive and a
newly-installed 160 gig slave. Can I make folders on this
slave private or is this only possible within
the "documents and settings" folder on my C drive? When I
try to do this, (on the new slave) the option is grayed
out.

Default Private Folders

My computer recently was attacked by a virus and i had to
re install windows. On my previous windows i had two user
profiles. After i re installed windows files and programs
from the previous users were still there. But i had a
private folder with my work and tax forms which i cant
seem to access from my new user profile. I cant seem to
be able to re instate the old user profile either. Is
there a way to solve this problem? Either re-instate the
old user profile or gain access to that folder?

Default Private Folders

Well I was wondering if there way any way of saving data
that existed in my private folder (i.e. C:\Documents and
Settings\Username). The other day I was applying some
skins and trying to get Object Bar and some other
programs nicely configured, and then I restarted and my
screen goes blank after the Windows XP loading screen
comes up. I have a second NTFS partition on my drive and
I have a spare OS I could install if there was a way I
could recover these files and transfer them to the other
partition. I only want to recover the data in My
Documents and I was wondering if I could recover it as I
can not actually use Windows so I can't logon as
Administrator or my username. Thanks in advance for the
help.

Default private folders

I had to reinstall XP. When I did I overwrote the prior
install. Saddly my prior Documents were in a private
folder and now I can't get to them. How as an
administrator do I get to the privatized folders?

I'm not able to take ownership as it's on a different OS
and I can't boot into Windows XP Pro to take the
ownership.

George;
Then take the data to a computer that has Windows XP.
As long as it is just an ownership issue, the data is still
retrievable.
