Problem with sorting files by date in Vista

Hello

I'm having a new and unheard of problem sorting my files by las
modification date in Vista

It used to sort the files chronologically (as it should), as in fo
example
(NB: I use the day-month-year system

29/08/200
31/07/200
30/01/200

And today, for some unknown reason, it has switched to sorting dates o
a purely numerical basis, as in

31/07/200
30/01/200
29/08/200

So it sorts everything by the day number, without any regard for th
month or year, so that the files are in fact not chronologically sorte
at all

I don't know what happened. This is very annoying

Can somebody tell me how to revert it back
