Problem in using Remote Desktop Connection

Posted: 02-05-2004, 07:27 PM
Computers A, B and C are all running WinXP Pro. Computers A and B are
members of a domain, computer C is not.

I can remote desktop connect from A to C.

Last week (!) I could remote desktop connect from A to B.

This week, I get the error message of "Your interactive logon privilege has
been disabled. Please contact your system administrator" when I try to
remote desktop connect from A to B. I checked and my domain username is on
the list of allowed remote users. I can remote desktop connect to B by using
a local (non-domain) id.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Dennis

You might want to check if there is a "deny" on your account or group that
your account is in,

gpedit.msc -> Local Computer Policy -> Computer Configuration -> Windows
Settings -> Local Policies -> user rights, look at "deny logon locally",
"deny logon through terminal services", since this machine is domain B, you
also need to double check with domain administrator.

Thank you for the suggestion but this isn't the problem. All the denys are
blank.

Interestingly, I tried to logon from the console of Computer B and it
reported the same error. After rebooting it, I could logon from the console
(but still not with RDC).
