Problem with Serial Port Numbering Driver after Installing SP1

Posted: 01-10-2004, 01:16 PM
After downloading and installing XP Service Pack 1, I
could not get XP to load properly; a "blue screen" error
message pointed to the serenum.sys driver. (This is
supposed to number serial ports.) I had to disable
(rename) this file in order to load XP, which now seems to
work okay -- except that the serial port where I had mouse
connected is not operable.

Does anyone have a similar experience and know the
resolution?

Ray
