I just recently bought a new computer and I am having a
lot of problems. A fter I connected to the internet
problems started. It started out with trying to get the
browser to come up. Once it did I would get part browser
and on the top part it would be a bunch of text. That no
one seems to understand where it came from. My daughter
was trying to fix it and discovered that when she
disabled the McAfee virus software that the browser would
come up like it should. Than as soon as the virus scan
was enabled the text would come back so we uninstalled
it. But now when we tried to upgrade the yahoo browser
most everything came except the icon spaceship doesn't
come on. It won't download with the rest of the program.
and I keep running into problems like that. Any feed back
that you can give me as to what all this is I'd
appreciate.

Thank you very much,

"After I connected to the internet problems started" The
root of your problems is probably that you picked up a
virus/worm when you went on the Internet. If you did so
without installed and enabled anti-virus and firewall
software, the odds are high that your pc is infected.
You can get it scanned for free here:

HAVE LOST DR. WATSON AND OTHER EMBEDED FILES. THE QUESTION
IS, CAN I DOWNLOAD WINDOWS XP CD FROM THE START-UP AND NOT
LOOSE ANY PROGRAMS THAT WE NOW HAVE. WILL IT ONLY REPLACE
ANY ITEM THAT IS MISSING WHEN RE-INSTALLING WITHOUT
DELETING WINDOWS XP FIRST?

Every time I click on MY COMPUTER, RECYCLE BIN, INTERNET
EXPLORER, or any folders I created on the desktop, there's
an error message saying: "Internet Explorer has encountered
a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the
inconvenience" (taking Internet Explorer as being the one I
clicked on. HELP!
