Problems after installing service pack 1 for xp

here are two problems that I am encountering.
"Operation Could Not Be Completed When Using Add Printer
Wizard" msg when attempting to install a printer
and "Spooler SubSystem App has encountered a problem and
needs to close"


These two problems surfaced after I installed the latest
service pack for my operating system from Microsoft.


I have manually started the subsystem as instructed at
the website but the problem continues. I have attempted
to search the Microsoft website for possible fixes but I
have been unsuccessful.
