that would have been my first port of call had it not been installed by afriend who I now live 60mile away from and haen't been able to get in touch
recently. Other ideas?

Then download them on the PC you are currently working on, burn them to a CDand install that way.

It is a scratch built PC I'm looking for some sort of generic download thatwill allow me on-line so I can update to a more appropriate one. Although I
appriciate your intrest in helping, basic baby steps are not needed, thank

You're going to have to take the card out of the PC and identify it by theFCC number on the card.
Or even simpler, just go out and buy a new one for about $10.00
If you build a PC, you should know what is in it. It's only OEM models that
folks generally have difficulty in identifying parts. It's one of the main
reasons folks do their own builds.
