Problems with EWF and SP2 FP 2007
Posted: 08-09-2007, 03:43 PM
I have been using XPE for a while and have recently upgraded to SP2
and FP2007.
I go through my steps to install the system and I end up with the EWF
side of things not working.
The CF card has a c: and d: both NTFS.
The differences are:
FP2007 and latest patches.
Using a bigger CF card with spare 100MBytes of space at the end.
Settings are:
Num prot volumes 1
Max overlays 1
EWF part size 0
Disable BG disk frag -> on
Horn -> off
Start enabled off
Lazy write off
disk no 0
part no 1
overlay RAM REG
I boot it up and go through FBA then do my changes.
I then run two reg files.
ewf1.reg:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\EWF\Parameters
\Protected]
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\EWF\Parameters
\Protected\Volume0]
"Type"=dword:00000001
"ArcName"="multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1) "
ewf2.reg:

I then run "rundll32 ewfdll.dll ConfigureEwf"
Then reboot and the system should come up with ewf working.
It used to start as RAM REG and enabled. It now comes up as RAM REG
disabled and ewfmgr c: -enable doesn't work.
I then ran the "rundll32 ewfdll.dll ConfigureEwf" again and rebooted
again. Then the system came up in RAM rather than RAM REG
When it was working correctly I used to run a ewfmgr c: -
commitanddisable -live and shutdown to make a "prefbreseal" image.
I would make any last changes, run an ewfmgr c: -enable and then
fbreseal.
I would then image the CF and create copies to clone.
Any idea what is going on.
Thanks
Merik
