problems with installing drivers

Would anyone have an idea as for where to find drivers for fujitsu siemens
laptop AMILO A7640 ? It seems that no drivers have been made for Vista
Do you think there is a way to get around it or is there no chance to run
vista on an amilo laptop? Below are some specs. Any help more than
appreciated.

You should be OK without drivers Sven, the Beta has a lot of generic
drivers built in and you do not have anything too outlandish in there.
You will probably lose some functionality, wireless may be a problem
and possibly your dial up modem but otherwise it should be useable.
The only thing that may blow it is the synaptics touch pad.

There are very few Vista drivers out there at the moment so if
something does not work out of the box the odds are it is not going to
until the manufactorer releases a Vista driver.

Best bet is to do a full drive image of your laptop with Acronis or
Ghost then wipe it and install Vista to see what happens. If it goes
badly wrong you can recover XP from your image.

I am going to try that on this LT after the weekend to see if I can
get it running, this one is a lot more basic than yours though so I
doubt I will have any major problems.

Thanks, Jonah, very helpful of you to have taken your time and given such a
detailed response. I have run the upgrade advisor and hope to get Vista
running (although there was an issue with Connexant AccessRunner USA ADSL
Interface).
