Problems with Internet script - Service Control Manager?

Posted: 10-16-2003, 02:33 PM
I'm having problems with certain objects on web pages.
When I click on an object nothing happens. I have checked
all internet settings, and the effect happens in both
internet explorer and Netscape. Typically I click on an
image that would normally open a new window and generate a
script error like:
Line:146
char:2
Error: Object doesn't support this property or method
code:0
URL:http://www.comedycentral.com/tv_shows/ds/

The line and character are different for different web
pages, but the error codes are the same. I checked the
error log file and I have a large number of entries
indicating that the "Service Control Manager" has an error:
"The Application Management service terminated with the
following error: The specified module could not be found."
listed. I have tried to uninstall and reinstall Sun's
Java and Microsoft's JVM, but have not been able to fix
it. I suspect that a library is damaged, but have not
found out how to check it.
Can anyone help?
Thanks,
Bryan

This looks like a script error so it probably has nothing to do with Java.
Since it happens with both IE and Netscape it's probably just a bug in the
page you are visiting.
