| I recently purchased a vista computer. I previously had a xp computer and had my playstation 3 hooked up to it through my home network wirelessly using a lnksys router. I got rid of the linksys router for a netgear one, and got rid of the xp computer for a vista model. I hard wired my ps3 into my router, but I can't access the media servers from vista computer. File sharing is enabled. I can browse the web, go to the playstation store, but can't access media servers. Tried talking to Sony, no help there. Tried computer manufacturer, no help there. Had techs from ISP come in an make sure network was okay, doing fine. After 2 weeks of constant calling to sony, their advise was to contact microsoft.. Looking for any and all help that's out there...Thanks... -- sgtinel | Guest

(Microsoft MP3 player) does not work either as far as being recognized by my PS3 but it is recognized, of course, by my 360. I'm guessing that the media server in Windows Vista is similar to the Zune and not recognized by the PS3 which would certainly suck. I'm running XP at this time so someone else with Vista and PS3 would need to verify, but I'm interested to hear. Personally, I think Sony should figure this out or else it makes the Xbox 360 more compelling for sharing wirelessly to any new Windows machines. Microsoft isn't going to go out of their way to help them. Matt | Guest

| Hi - I also have a Dell XPS with Vista - I seem to be a little stupid, but, cannot get PS3 to find any MediaSharing Devices. My Windows Media Sharing is version 11 - It shows the PS3 as an "unknown" device, but, it is allowed. Does the Trend Micro PC-cillian internet security have anything to do with this? Does the Firewall? Help, Help, Help. Thanks "xl990" wrote: Quote:
