Default Problems with User Account Control and McAfee

Hi,

I've encountered a problem that I don't know how to fix. I ran a virus scan
using McAfee and after a while the computer went into standby mode. When I
went back to using it the User Account Control window was up asking for my
permission. After pressing continue the window popped up again...and again
and again. Same situation if I pressed cancel. Ctrl+Alt+delete did nothing
either until I restarted the computer.

On a possible related issue, if I ever twice double tap the McAfee icon out
of impatience on the bottom right of my screen the window appears on the bar
but not on the screen. This feezes any actions I want to take giving an
annoying ping sound. The only way I can get out of this is by going through
task manager. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Vin

Get rid of McAfee. It is pretty dreadful even on XP and is not really
Vista-compatible. Recommended antivirus programs are NOD32, Kaspersky,
and even Avast if you want a free one. The built-in Windows Defender is
sufficient antispyware protection for most people, as is the built-in
Windows Firewall.
