Program won't remember Default Printer

I have a Samsung Laser setup as the default printer for our system. We also
have a Konica Printer/Fax on the network.

If I use Word and send a fax on the Konica, the next time Word tries to
print a document, regardless of the document previous settings, it tries to
do it on the Konica Fax, not on the Default Printer.

The same thing happens with Adobe Acrobat (Vers 7.07).

Is there a way to to get the Default printer be the first choice of a
program. I can't change the documents themselves, they are being sent to us
by other companies. I am hopeful there is a Program or Registry setting that
can make this happen.
