Programs and Features Head Aches

Posted: 05-31-2007, 11:12 PM
Hello,

I'm noticing that Vista Home Basic sometimes does not list a program as
being installed even though it is. I installed Daemon Tools 32-bit v4.09 but
when I went to uninstall Daemon Tools it doesn't show up in the list of
installed programs. This happened before with another program (can't
remember which one).

Also, I installed Acronis Disk Director v10 which shows up in the installed
programs list, but Vista won't let me uninstall it. Whenever I attempt to
uninstall Acronis disk Director Vista locks up and I have to do a restore
upon reboot.

Is there any way to deal with the above problems or am I just stuck with the
mess?

I know developers need to do something to make their apps appear in the
Uninstall list, but not all do. Hopefully they provided a link in their
Start menu group, but if not, prowl their directory and see if there's an
uninstall exe or anything...

You might ask the Acronis people what's going on with their product...

Dana,

Thanks for your response. Your right, there was an uninstall.exe in the
Daemon Tools directory and I used it to uninstall the program. Appreciate
the help. YOU ROCK!!!
