This bulletin may be applicable if you have Norton installed:

After updating to the January 7th or 8th virus definitions, your computer slows

| Since the last automatic windows update (done on our computers 01/07/04), two of our computers are very slow
to start programs especially Word and Excel. Once the programs start, opening files is agonizingly slow.
| I have prevented a third XP computer from installing the Windows updates and it still runs fine. Is there a
way to uninstall updates? I'd rather go back to pre-update performance.
