QuarkXpress cannot load after the removal of Ext. USB keyboard

Posted: 11-19-2003, 09:45 AM
I have a Compaq Presario 2100 laptop running XP Home and
everything works fine until yesterday.

I am using the QuarkXpress version 4.1 (a publishing
software) and it works perfectly fine. Yesterday, I
bought an ext. USB keyboard and connected it to the
laptop. XP recongnized it and it works fine. However,
after I unpluged the USB external keyboard, I can't load
the QuarkXpress version 4.1 and it always prompts a
message " This version of QuarkXpress cannot be used with
this Keyboard [86]".

I have removed the QuarkXpress and re-installed again but
the problem persists. I also removed the keyboard and USB
controller from device manager and reinstalled them of no
avail. So, I would be grateful if anyone could help me
solve this problem.

TIA

Peter

control panel-> regional settings -> languages-> details/advanced

then delete all the keyboards except the US one. Then restart and go again there and install the keyboard of your language. This should be work!
