| I have a copy of Vista Business and I have used Gpedit.msc to alter some settings to my liking. What I would like to know is this: is there an easy way to backup the local group policy modifications I have made and reapply them should I ever need to reinstall my operating system? I have search MS's Technet but I can't seem to find the answer I am looking for. And thanks in advance. | Guest

| I guess you could start by backing up the c:\windows\system32\GroupPolicy folder. "Jeff_Flowers" wrote: Quote:

| So, all setting applied by gpedit.msc are kept in the c:\windows\system32\GroupPolicy folder? Will Vista's new security setup allow this folder to be restored easily? "Sam Yost" wrote: Quote:

| Good question. Not much documentation on this subject and this is all I found so far. But I will keep looking into it because I am interested in it also. "Jeff_Flowers" wrote: Quote:

| BTW: Here is a decent link regarding Vista and group policy. I didn't realize you can have multiple local polices based on users. http://www.windowsecurity.com/articl...icy-Part1.html "Jeff_Flowers" wrote: Quote:
