QuickTime 7 Pro and iTunes

Posted: 06-16-2006, 05:00 PM
Hi,

I have Windows XP with SP1 and SP 2.

In Control Panel, I have a QuickTime icon. When I doble click on it and
then click on the "audio" tab", I receive a message that says,

header: "Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library"
body of message: "Buffer overrun detected! Program:
C:\Windows\system32\rundll32.exe A buffer overrun has been detected which
has corrupted the program's internal state. The program cannot safely
continue execution and must
now be terminated."

I went into Add/Remove Program and tried to uninstall QuickTime but it
starts the uninstall wizard and then almost immediately stops.

When I tried to download a new version to replace the one in my pc (to
overwrite it), I received a fatal warning and my pc did die. It wouldn't
boot into normal mode. I booted into Safe Mode and did a System Restore to a
previous day and my pc worked again.

I've run many anti-virus/trojan/worm/spyware/adware/grayware programs but
none has produced a problem. I've also run PC onPoint and RegSeeker but it
hasn't helped.

Any suggestions?

Denise
