Depends on how much memory space you assigned to Ready Boost, 256 or greater
is recommended. Does this happen when you insert the usb stick in any of the
USB ports on the system? Are the options still available when you check the
Propeties of the USB Stick > under the ReadyBoost tab?

I have one 500 MB Stick from LG Electronics , Silverline Edition - this one
uses ReadyBoost and it works.

My other, a 1GB Stick from a no-name company is not ReadyBoost compatible.

With the one working, I found out that you must use USB 2.0 Ports that are
on the Mainboard. Extra-added USB-Ports via a USB 2.0 PCI-Card do not work
here. USB 1.1 Ports also do not work with that.

Its a Try and error - Play, but most people say that smaller sticks ( 256 -
512 MB ) working than the bigger ones.

I am using 2.0 ports here, and as noted, the recommended amount of memory
256 or higher is also recommended.

According to Help and Support:
The recommended amount of memory to use for ReadyBoost acceleration is one
to three times the amount of random access memory (RAM) installed in your
computer. For instance, if your computer has 512 megabytes (MB) of RAM and
you plug in a 4 gigabyte (GB) USB flash drive, setting aside from 512MB to
1.5GB of that drive will offer the best performance boost.

In My Computer right click on the usb drive, go to properties, click on the
Ready Boost tab.

Same here, using a PNY Attache 1GB stick, it was working in Beta 2 and
Pre-RC1

Go into Device manager. Under "Disk drives" find your
device. Select the "properties" of the USB drive. Open
the "Policies" tab. Make sure "Optimize for Performance"
is checked.

That might do the trick. Testing it a few times may also
do the trick. Also, moving it to another USB slot may work.

Oh, if you have the USB stick plugged in to a USB hub, try plugging
it directly into one of the slots on the computer.
