RC1 & RTM Updates by Paul Thurrott

Posted: 08-16-2006, 03:54 AM
I wanted to share this info. It will be interesting to see the improvements in RC1. Only thing I can't figure out is why wait if it is completed? I think RC1 should be released by the Labor Day weekend to give users time to test it out. It will also give testers time to find any additional bugs and allow the Vista Team at Microsoft to take a nice week end off. Enough of my thoughts, here is what Paul Thurrott had to say.

Info From: http://www.windowsitpro.com/Article/...182/93182.html
"Although I'm not at liberty to divulge the full contents of the message, Microsoft has placed build 5520 into escrow as the RC1 of Vista. This build will be released to testers and the public after the Labor Day holiday in the United States, which falls this year on September 4. Currently, Microsoft expects to ship RC1 on or after September 7."

"Meanwhile, the release to manufacturing (RTM), or final, version of Vista is set for a September 2006 escrow and final release on or before October 25."

That's a bit harsh Kevin.
Jason's out there having a go ... so back off a little.

Must you end every, and I mean every, effin' sentence in your posts with
"Just FYI"?

It's' akin to saying "I think you're an idiot, for your information." Just
stop it. Cease and desist.

"Just FYI" really is superfluous, circuitous, and ridiculous.
Bad news - Kevin has an attitude so you are stuck with him and FYI.

Actually, you aren't "...stuck with him and FYI." - just put him in your
killfile and forget him.
