RC1 can't see raid 0 array

Thanks for responding Phil. I atually did not have to do anything for the RC1
install setup for my sata drive, it automatically showed the drive in the
list to install Vista on..I simply selected the new partition on the sata
drive that I made for Vista, and it installed no problems. I did not need an
additional driver. Well I just wiped out the partition again and did a
re-install of RC1 to the same sata drive, but this time I also did the RAID
driver option for my on board Nvidia Raid..and installed the OS again. Got
the same result....when I am in Vista it does not show the RAID array. In
device manger it shows both drives seperatly, but when I goto the my computer
screen, it shows both drives as a single drive or volume, but I cannot access
it. Keeps saying it needs to format the drive before I can use it. I
dunno...again I got Beta 2 to work with this setup fine. Not sure what the
problem is. All of my 3D games I wanted to try with Vista are on the RAID
array that I cannot get to. I have tried different drivers also for the
Nvidia Raid controller, no sucess. Oh well. Ay suggstions?

If there are no Raid drivers in Vista then it will not see the raid array. I
am posting a link that I put up earlier for another problem but you can go to
that forum with your problem and maybe you can find more answers there.

Interesting all these issues with nForce4 systems. I am still not able to
install RC1. I have read the link over below and tried this to no avail. (It
actually got me the furthest yet and VISTA RC1 completely installed but on
the last reboot will load). I have downloaded 3 ISO files and tried them all
with no success.

If I quickly pop in build 5536, it see's the nForce drivers on my USB key
and zooms right through a clean install into it's own partition. This has me
totally stumped as to why build 5536 installs perfectly in 25 min yet RC1
will not. I'll do some searching and see where to go from here.

Barry, thats the thing. There are RAID drivers for the on-board Nvidia raid
controller, it is installed in the device manger with drivers and everything.
But for some reason, the RAID array is still not being recognized.

Phil, I got the RC1 setup program to find my RAID driver on my USB key
without a hassle, and installed it again and still it does not recognize the
array. Again I installed the OS on a seperate SATA drive not the RAID volume,
but I still loaded the RAID driver anyway from a USB thumbdrive during setup,
still no RAID. I also have read in other places about Nforce4 problems with
some builds of VISTA. I tell ya again for Beta 2, everything worked fine so
what gives?

Hay everybody, I got it to work. I went back into Vista and checked out the
ata storage controllers in the device manger. I noticed it just said they
were "standard" controllers. I manually updated the drivers to the latest
Nforce 4 AMD drivers for Xp...then device manager labeled them as Nforce-4
ata controllers. I restarted Vista and it recognized both drives as being in
the RAID zero format...now everything works! I guess if you are having
problems, make sure yu load the extra Atapi/ATA controller drivers during
setup or after you install...because apparently Vista just used its own
version of a generic driver for these NForce-4 chipset componets....I hope
this helps someone else out also. Give it a try!
