RC1 won't install Error code 0x0

I had to boot from CD and do a clean install

Upgrade from, I was talking about... Had to clean install. All working fine.

Glad to hear it, but be sure to report the failed upgrade attempt via the
feedback link on your desktop. This is the scenario MS most wants to hear
about right now.

Hi

I have the same problem. I try to upgrade from xp home ( fully updated )
to vista from the dvd i burned off the downloaded program , using nero 7. I
click install, the screen with the blue curtains appears, after about 30 secs
i get

"windows setup experienced an unexpected error. to install windows restart
the installation. error 0x0 "

i've downloaded the file three times and burnt 4 dvds with the same result.
error 0x0 I tried the full install procedure up to clicking install and that
seemed to go ok. I did not proceed any farther as it's a pain reloading all
the resultant erased programs.

I'm having the same problem: completely update XP SP2. I can boot into it for
a clean install, but no upgrade...
