rdp from xp to vista

Posted: 06-24-2007, 07:15 PM
I checked this newsgroup and unless I did my search wrong I haven't been
able to find away to RDP from xp to vista. Will this continue to be a
problem or has there been a fix for it? running vista enterprise.

thanks

I'm posting this again b/c i'm not sure if my 1st post went through
since I can't find it.

I installed vista enterprise and I can't rdp from xp to vista. I heard
it was an issue and wanted to know if it's fixed w/ an update, is it
going to stay like that or is there a work around.

Have you allowed RDP through the Vista firewall? That was the only
things stopping me connecting when I first installed Vista.

Make sure you have the Vista host configured like this...

....and the XP client configured like this...

Beyond that as noted by Neil make sure TCP Port 3389 is open on any firewall
or router the Vista host PC is behind.
