Reactivating hdd after converting to dynamic disk

Posted: 01-21-2004, 07:31 PM
I had problems seeing multiple discs in xp pro, went to disc management in admin tools, converted 40gb ide disk to dynamic disk, saw data, removed the disk. No I want to copy data from 40gb, reinstalled it in machine, not accessible. Went to disc management again, says "offline". Tried to reactivate disc but gives error "INTERNAL Error - The disk group contains no valid configuration copies (C10000B6)" and "Errors in some configuration copiesisk Harddisk1, copy 1: Block 0: Invalid magic number in the configuration copy" I have to access data as it is a crucial backup, want to convert back to basic disk but warns that data will be lost, what can I do to access the data? Even tried a linux pc, unsuccessfull. Drive is NTFS.
