Default Read VOB files, but no sound

I have problem with playback VOB video files. The video is played just fine,
but there is no sound.

Please let me know if you have any suggestion how to fix the problem.

Thanks,

you probably need a AC3 decoder, do a search for "AC3 filter" on google
it should bring up a free one that works very well ( i think from
soundforge)

Shahed stated "Read VOB files, but no sound". My problem is WMM cannot/will
not read my VOB movie file. I have a home movie on a DVD, it is a VOB file,
it plays on Computer, DVD player, WM Player, everything. I downloaded "ULead
Video Studio 10" (a movie editing software) which read and imported my DVD
movie but Windows Movie Maker says "The file E:\VIDEO_TS\VTS_01_1.VOB is not
a supported file type, and it cannot be imported into Windows Movie Maker.".
I find this strange because all other movie maker/editing programs import the
movie. Can you or anyone explain why this is happening with WMM?
Thanks
LRC

Windows Movie Maker CANNOT read a VOB file. Convert it to MPEG and you
might get better results.

Cyberlink's PowerDirector reads a VOB. Intervideos WinDVD Creator doesn't.
I can't remember off the top of my head if Roxio v7 or v8 does or not. I
can't test v9 because it doesn't work with IE7 installed and I'm not
prepared to uninstall IE7 just for that one application, I'd rather wait
till Roxio fixes their product.

Thanks again Cari, and to your question re:Roxio v7/v8...I have Roxio Easy
Media Creator 8...it does NOT read VOB files. Their support site instructs
how to change Video files to .mpg by capturing the file and changing the
extension....yeah, right...YA CAN'T CAPTURE IT IF YOU CAN'T READ IT!??
(Typical unresponse.)

Default Re: Read VOB files

You wouldn't "capture it", you'd just copy it from the disc to the pc hard
drive and then change the file extension.
