Real One Player

Yes.. if you set real 1 to be default player.. it will
play all audio music, the one you set such as mp3, wav,
etc.
But you can still play using windows media player, and run
media player and open that music file.

yes.. u can make playlists and minimized and play it.

You know, I'm not familiar with Mini Disc MP3 players at all, but it seems
to me that you must surely have other options aside from installing that big
pig, Real One Player. For one thing, your MD player plays mp3 files, not
Real Audio files. Any music software can play mp3 files. And from personal
past experience, you can install RealPlayer and set it up to not be your
default player, but it can be a challenge. Be very careful with your
selections while installing it if you decide to use it because by its very
nature, Real software wants to be in charge of playing everything at all
times.

Ian.

It also comes with a ton of extra baggage like ads and spyware. When you
install, make sure you uncheck all the options to send usage data, notify
you of updates etc. There are some web sites like CNN and The Weather
Channel, that require you to use Real One player to get their streaming
media. Just be careful on the install.

MD does not acutally play the MP3 format, music is converted and
stored on the disk in Sony's ATRAC3 format. As such, the only
software currently able to do this is RA1 and Sony's SonicStage and
Simple MD which are even worse than RA. Sony's scheme has you convert
all your MP3 files to its own format and then requires you to check
out/check in files to your disks. There is a maximum of 3 checkouts,
which means a song on no more than 3 disk or less if the program gets
screwed up (and it does so frequently) and songs can only be checked
back in on the machine where they were checked out. MD is an
excellent format but the software choices are horrible. There are
several work arounds for this though. Anyone interrested in MD should
visit www.minidisct.com to find any of the other suggested methods.

Open Windows Explorer, select one of the music files, right click while
depressing the shift key, select "Open With," select Windows Media Player
from the list, be sure to place a check next to always open with, click
apply and ok if the buttons become active.

Windows Media Player won't play Real Media files. RealOne Player WILL play
Windows Media Files, however, with the Microsoft codecs installed.

so you think there is no way of just downloading the real player codec without the rest of the program?
