Default Receiving notice for a specific Update...but which I do...NOT want to be downloaded+installed!!

Hello,

My problem is that I'm receiving a "recommended" Update to be installed
....but which I "refuse" now to be downloaded+installed, since it always
used to fail to be installed successfully after every reboot of my PC (!).

Hence, my setting is now at Security Center as follows: "Check for updates
but let me choose whether to download and install them".

But I really would like be able to cancel now its continuous listing (at
Control Panel > Windows Updates > View available updates), and this
"once and for all"...but I just cannot see "how to do this" at...Vista!

Indeed, at XP one could click at the button "Do not notify me anymore
about this specific recommended Update".

Hmm, so I'm wondering now if this is also possible at Vista; hopefully!!
Any valid response would be highly appreciated; thank you in advance...

With best regards,

Philippe

When you click o nthe update shield, choose custom and then uncheck
that box, if it is the only one when you click close, it will pop up a
box asking if you are sure you do not want to install that item and a
box you can check saying you never want to see it again. If there are
many items on the list and you want all but some to be installed when
you click install the ame box will pop up.

Open the Update window and View Updates.
I believe you can right-click the offending update and select Hide Update.
It will no longer bother you.
