recognice hard drive

I am having a hard time getting a slave hard drive to get recognized by
vista. For some reason it doesnt even show up in my computer. It does show
that the drive is there in drive managment but I have alot of data that I
cant replace. I would use partition magic but they havent made it compatable
yet.

I am havin a simalr problem... this is whats going on Windows Vista does not
allow access to hard drives bigger than 250gb yet and I have a 300gb HD. So
if anyone has a soulution to this problem plese respond.
