I'd like to send these chapters over email. However, my sound program
installed with the computer only will record 60 seconds. What can I do to
change the time length?

There is a way, but I've never tried it and it looks like a bit of an
ordeal: http://support.microsoft.com/default...B;en-us;q82215 and
even then, it's going to be recording in wav format, which you'll need to
convert to mp3 with another utility if you hope to send the audio files
via email.

Instead, you may want to try using this freeware utility instead of
Windows Sound Recorder: http://stepvoice.com/ StepVoice will encode
directly to mp3 and doesn't have the 60-second time restriction.

Hope that helps,
Ian.

Use Audacity, a free audio editor, or CDex, a free CD-ripper/audio converter.
http://audacity.sourceforge.net/

I want to record music playing in the background of www.barrygibb.com but the
sound recorder allows recording of clips only 60Sc in length, this is a
problem becouse the music on this site is a continuous strem and so i have to
save files after every 60 seconds. By the time a file is saved,, some part of
the music goes unrecorded as the sound recorder is busy aving the previously
recorded clip. Is there a way to configure the sound recorder so that i can
record more than 60seconds of music.

Not really. Use Audacity (free) or Goldwave (slight fee, more features). Do
a Google search to find them.

without recording anything let it run for 60 sec ,go into the file menue
choose save as give it a name. Return to recording session go to edit then
insert file and navigate to the previously saved file and open it, This adds
another 60 sec to the yet to be used recording session, Repeat these stepes
as mant times as you like . good luck .wanda
