recovering data on second drive

Have a pentium 4 with 80 gB hard drive. I install a second drive maxtor 120gB working just fine all data are on it. I had a problen on first drive so I formated it and reinstall windows xp. Now second drive is only 35 Gb and when I click on it, the system ask me If I want to format it. (which I don't want because all data on it)How can I recover my data from the second drive
