Posted: 12-16-2007, 11:11 PM
When I have deleted files in my bin the Recycle Bin link for Emptying it,
namely, "Empty the Recycle Bin" fails to function.

How can this "link" be restored to a working function?

This issue has now been reported to Microsoft & is under investigation by the
"Techies" from the "Fault escalation department", they are phoning me again
on Monday 24/12/2007. This is reported as a one off issue & not been seen
before!?

I will keep you all informed, OK?

Hi,

This is the "Official Reply from MS", SRX1053056604ID

Dear Mr. xxxxxx, Lottiemansion,
Unfortunately we have been unsuccessful in resolving your issue at this
time, therefore I can confirm I am keeping this case as unresolved. Please
find a summary of the key points for your records below.

CURRENT STATUS: Not Resolved
ACTION PLAN: We might need to do repair install.

**** Note : As you asked, I would suggest you to use alternate methods to
empty recycle bin.

Should you require any further assistance with this issue, please do not
hesitate to call us with your case reference number already provided and we
will be more than happy to help.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you once again for choosing
Microsoft.
.................................................. .................................................. .................................................. ......................
So,
As you can see they too are stumped & can only suggest a full OEM
re-install, back to 2005. Which I carried out & the same fault re-occurred,
prior to informing them of the issue. it also took 4 days of re-installing
additional software to the PC (after work & life etc).

Well, ha ho, that's the suppport you come to expect from of MS?!!!!

Regards

Lottiemansion

Hi,

Tried to reset the Recycle Bin from the registry entries from this Web site
& MS provided a rcb.reg file too, but all to no avail.

MS file named rcb.reg was as follows: -

I have now incorporated the "Empty Recycle Bin" anywhere in explorer tweak
as recommended.

Keep the suggestions coming in though.
Thank you

Lottiemansion, I have found the solution.
Right click on "Start", click on "explore" find "Recycle Bin" near bottom,
right click on it, click on "Empty Receicle Bin" BINGO it is empty.
