hello,
Here is our situation. We have a Windows 2000 Domain with mostly
Windows XP clients ( a few 2k's). We have redirected the My Documents
folder to \\server\docs\%username%. As I understand this setting with
Windows XP, when a folder is redirected, it is automatically set up as
an offline folder for synchronization also. We want this to happen.
I have enabled Offline Files for our users and I have also enabled the
policy that states "Synchronize offline files at Logoff"
The problem is that the files are not synchronized until Logon, so if
a user modifies a file, logs off, takes the computer home to work on
said file, the modifications made before logging off that day are not
present. When the user gets back to work and logs in, the file that
was modified the day before finally is synchronized. We need
Synchronization to happen at Logon and Logoff for the Redirected My
Documents folder. I know the policy where "Sync at Logoff" is applied
to the client machines because we have another machine policy that is
working fine in the very same GPO. Folder Redirection also works
fine. It's just the sync issue. Any and all suggestions are
appreciated!
