Registry Changes Needed to Retain Printer "Orientation" ?

Posted: 04-14-2007, 05:12 AM
XP SP2 with 2 XP "User Accounts". 2 HP printers (Photosmart 2610 and
LaserJet 1018) work fine. But...

For XP User # 1, setting and saving the printer orientation
(landscape/portrait) on both printers work fine. When this user prints
AGAIN, LATER (say different webpage or PDF), the "last saved" orientaion is
retained properly.... for both printers.

For XP User # 2, the "last saved" orientation is NOT retained ... for either
printer... upon printing a 2nd and subsequent time (say different webpage,
PDF, etc.). The orientation always returns to "landscape".

(Actually it is not just orientation that is not retained, but other
settings, as well, on the Photosmart printer. But for simplicity, let's
stick to the orientation.)

Both printers (in Control Panel | Printers and faxes .....) are set to
"portrait".

Could this be some Registry setting that I may be able to change for XP User
# 2, so it is like XP User # 1? If so, how? (Have never made Registry
changes, but have run Regedit to look.)

FYI, HP denied supplying me with the Registry keys/values that their printer
installations create/modify.

Thanks in advance for assistance.
