registry looking for lost file.........

Hello,
pardon my lack of terminoligy everybody on this site
seems to have, here is the "laymans" version of what is
happening. At startup a message sayin " system32
\sndcompat\exe is not responding, please retype, or
eliminate from registry, I've searched in windows/sys32,
and this file is indeed missing, how do I fixit so
everytime at startup I donot get this message, thank you

Thank goodness you decided to use "laymans" language to describe your
problem. I can't tell you how many posters try to use fancy terminology that
they don't understand which makes their questions almost unintelligible.

You will continue to experience problems until you learn how to protect your
