Default Remote Desktop Laptop to Laptop

I can use remote desktop, Desktop to Desktop, Laptop to
Desktop but not Laptop to Laptop. It trys to connect,
then just jumps out. I then found a laptop I could
connect to, but it could not connect to me. I made sure
we both had the same display driver, and SP1 - what else
it could be...?
Remote Desktop is setup correctly at both ends (yes I am
certain - as I am doing it Desktop to Desktop with no
problems). Can't help but think there must be a screen
driver/resolution problem, but now I have one laptop
working I am baffled...

What about the network. Are you on the same network, can you do a 'ping -t
<laptop>' when you try to connect and see if there are any dropped packets?

Default Re: Remote Desktop Laptop to Laptop

There is nothing wrong with the network. Its a lab,
everything is going through the same switch. Same
subnet, ports right next to each other. I can connect to
the Desktops in the lab from the laptops, just not the
other way around, and not laptop to laptop. Ping tests
are fine. We found a fix which involved deleting a
certificate key from regedt32, but that only worked for
W2K machines, it did not resolve on XP...

I can use 3rd party software to connect laptop to laptop
without a problem.

I can use Remote Assistance to connect without a problem.
