| I just recently upgraded from WinXP Home to WinXP Pro, and had a heck of a time doing it. As it turns out, the only way to get everything working properly after the upgrade was to delete everything (not formatting as I have 50GB of files that cannot be deleted) other than the files that cannot be deleted, and install WinXP Pro fresh. To save the trouble of losing all documents and settings, I copied each user's documents and settings folders into a neutral location that would not be deleted. After setting up XP Pro and all user accounts as they were before, I copied the files from the neutral location into the new doc/settings folders. Everything worked fine and all files are accessibile as they should be, however now I am stuck with the neutral folder holding everything else that was not copied over. In fact, due to the file sharing properties that were set on those folders before the upgrade/install, I cannot delete them at all without getting an error telling me that I do not have permission to do so. I booted in Safe Mode and logged into the computer under the Administrator account, went into the sharing and security UI in the folder's properties, and set access to the folder to everyone so that I can delete it. Unfortunately, the permissions were NOT transferred through to the subfolders, more specifically the folders that were holding the permissions that were preventing me from deleting them. I NEED THEM GONE! Any ideas? Kronical | Guest
