Repeated install on startup

Windows detects new hardware (a printer) every time I
start. I know there is a KB article on this, but the
recommended "workaround" doesn't work. THe article
suggests going through the driver setup, etc even though
the printer may already be working. In this case I
diconnected the printer altogether and it Windows still
wants to install new hardware. HOw can I eliminate this
constant annoyance.

Repeated install on startup

I'm having the same problem as Scott C, New hardware
wizard detects 'printer' at every start up, even when
there is no printer installed! KB article #298370 links
to HP web help but this did not solve the issue. Has
anybody managed to eliminate this every annoying probelm ?
