reset proxy problem

Posted: 04-25-2008, 01:29 PM
under windows vista ulitmate i configured a proxy manually via the netsh
winhttp set proxy command and all was working fine through my proxy. However
now that I have removed the proxy server I'm unable to go back to direct
settings via the netsh winhttp reset proxy command. Everytime I execute the
command I get an access denied(5) error.
Any usefull hints to solve this problem? as this is now preventing me from
obtaining any furhter windows updates.

Error 5 is permission issue. Try to open the cmd run as administrator.

If your turn off User Account Control in User Accounts in Control Panel, it
will work.
