| Hello out there in never-never land. I have just resently purchased a new computer with XP and have had the data transfered onto it from the old. There is a short cut icon on the desk top but I do not know how to complete the data transfer. Any help would be appreciated. | Guest

| What has been done, how has it been done, what makes you think it's not complete, have you looked for your data on the new machine? The information you posted is conflicting. First you say you had the data transferred to the new system from the old and then you mention a shortcut icon (to what we do not know) and then ask us how to complete the transfer. Open Windows Explorer, do a search for some of your files. Assuming some of them are documents, they would have a doc extension so you might search for that and if they turn up, I guess that would mean, transfer is complete. Have no idea about the shortcut but if the people from whom you purchased the new computer transferred your data, you might want to ask them what it is all about. -- Michael Solomon MS-MVP Windows Shell/User Backup is a PC User's Best Friend DTS-L.Org: http://www.dts-l.org/ "JIM CHENEY" <jcheney@bendnet.com> wrote in message news:OMSmw8OpDHA.2528@TK2MSFTNGP10.phx.gbl...
