| I put patterns on a floppy using Works on my old Windows 95 program. Now I want to retrieve these patterns in XP and can't get them - at least not in the form I put them in. Tried to open in notepad, wordperfect, and others but it looks like I have to start typing all over again. Is there a way I can open these in the original form, not all garbled? | Guest

| I had a similar problem once. Not quite the cure, but solved my problem. If you can cut and paste from floppy (notepad or word) and then create the new doc. or txt. to put it into. I dont know why it happened for myself as well, but the cure did work for me. Once saved in XP, it never was a problem again. All proggys recognized the standard text. best of luck, SL "breister" <beeuw@yahoo.com> wrote in message news:05dc01c35adf$0c920990$a401280a@phx.gbl... Quote:

that can open works files properly, or you can open them on your old computer in works and save them in a format you can open on your new computer. It's really a problem with having files in the proprietary works format; it's not a windows 95/xp problem. | Guest
