Hi,

you could try "total recorder" (http://www.highcriteria.com/) - this
should do exactly what you are looking for. It's not free, tho.

Not sure, as I've never tried it, or given it much thought. But could you
just run a wire from your line out jack to your line in jack? (As opposed to
running it from your line out jack to your speakers.) As I said, I'm not
sure this would work, but it can't hurt to try.

It won't work if the card is not a "full-duplex" capable card. If it
is only "half-duplex", it can only do one or the other at a time.
