RPC server unavailable

Posted: 09-05-2003, 09:53 PM
We have a printer on an XP Pro workstation connected with
a serial cable. Another workstation has no problem
printing to this shared printer all day and then at 5:00
it will return that the RPC server is unavailable and
they end up needing to log off then back on to use the
printer off the other workstation. Why would this
happen? The user of the workstation with the printer
will still be logged on and has not rebooted or
anything. Does anyone have any ideas on what would be
causing this? Is there too much traffic over the network
because most people are leaving work for the day?
