Default Runndll2.exe in Task Manager

I am using WinXP Home Edition. When things don't seem to be running
correctly I bring up the Task Manager and check the Processes. Lately I
have found multiple incidences of "rundll32.exe" there. Five time when I
checked a few minutes ago. It doesn't seem to cause a problem when I end
them. What is that all about? Thanks.
