Hi

Scandisk has been 'replaced' by chkdsk. From a command prompt type "chkdsk /?" - without the quote. That will show the options available with chkdsk. Try chkdsk /f - you may need to reboot for this work.

Actually, chkdsk did not "replace" scandisk. Scandisk never existed
in the NT scheme; NT has always used chkdsk. Note: to do a thorough
check, a reboot is required. Also, be prepared to sit for a bit while
the process is running.
